White wedding shoes are the most popular choice for bridal wear today. The reason for this is obvious- the majority of brides opt for white wedding dresses and white shoes are the perfect complement. The trouble lies in finding a good pair of white formals. While finding fancy footwear in almost any other color is pretty easy, looking for white can sometimes turn into a fruitless hunt.
Why No White?
If you’re keeping a close eye on the purse strings, then you’re probably hoping to find an ordinary pair of white shoes to use as wedding shoes. The problem is that white is not a very popular color when it comes to stylish footwear- you’re far more apt to find blacks, creams and ivory-colored shoes rather than white. If you’re not too bothered about people seeing your feet, you can probably wear a pair of white tennis shoes and get away with it- many brides do!
If you want a stylish pair of white wedding shoes and are looking for something better than tennis shoes, then be aware. While white formal shoes can certainly be found, it’s important to make sure they are a good fit. Comfortable wedding shoes can mean the difference between an enjoyable wedding day and one that ends in blisters and a bad temper.
Where To Look
White bridal footwear can be found pretty easily, provided you know where to look. If you have the money for designer wedding shoes, then you could ask for a custom-made fit that matches your gown- that way, you’ll be assured of a great-looking shoe that won’t be biting at your heels. If designer goods are out of your league, take heart. There are lots of venues out there to find the perfect pair of white wedding shoes. Your first stop should be bridal boutiques- these stores regularly hold large sales in order to get rid of old inventory. Check out a number of different stores- you’ll be surprised at how much you can save and by the number of different styles that are available.
The internet can literally be your best friend in your hunt for your white wedding shoes. You can browse hundreds of different shoe stores from all around the world. Don’t forget to check out sites like eBay and Amazon as well. A lot of people use their wedding shoes once and then put them up for sale- you’re bound to find a real bargain if you trawl through different auction sites. You can also join online bridal forums and check out different bridal websites for more information.
Always remember to ensure that your bridal shoes are a comfortable fit before buying- if possible, try them on and walk around in them before you make a decision. Avoid anything that causes even the smallest amount of discomfort. Keep your eyes open and you’ll definitely find the perfect pair of white wedding shoes.

Where Can You Find White Wedding Shoes?
January 28th, 2010Just For The Men – Shoes
January 27th, 2010
Men are typically not picky creatures when it comes to their shoes. Most are most comfortable in a good pair of tennis shoes and that is that. However, it is good to mix up your shoe choices now and then. For men, there should be at least four different pairs of shoes in their closet. This should include sneakers, dress shoes, sandals, and boots. This makes sure that you are prepared for any occasion, rather it means going to work, attending meetings, heading to the beach, or out for a night on the town.
The two most popular types of dress shoes for men are oxfords and loafers. These shoes are great for work, meetings, or any time really. They look great and feel great as well. Oxfords are ankle level, tie shoes for men. They come in several different styles and kinds.
Some Oxford style include bluchers, which are opened laced oxfords, and balmorals, which are closed lace oxfords, as well as saddle, kilties, and wingtip. For a more formal type of shoes for men, the best one is close laced oxfords in black leather. These look great with double breasted or pinstriped suits. If you choose the same style, but in the color brown instead, these look wonderful with sport jackets and tweed suits.
Open laced oxfords in the colors of oxblood or brown are perfect to wear with almost anything such as sports coats, light suits, khakis, and even jeans. It is best to always choose real leather, particularly for the business man.
Loafers are more of a casual type of shoe for men. Their design has flat heels that are wide, as well as moccasin looking top that is both broad and low cut. Again, there are many different styles and types. You can choose from tassel loafers, buckle or monk strap loafers, moccasin loafers, and penny loafers. Not all men can pull off just any loafer look.
For example, younger men would do well to steer clear of monk strap loafers in a brown color. These types of shoes are generally reserved for those men that are middle aged. However, in the color of black, they will look great on any man of any age.
The business man wearing tailored or business suits should stick to Tassel loafers. However, this type of loafer in suede is great for the casual dress, such as jeans or linen suits. If you are a man who likes to wear polo shirts coupled with shorts, you should know that the only type of dressy shoe that can pull this look of is the suede moccasin and penny loafers.

Accessories For Men’s Black Tie Attire
January 26th, 2010
Have you been invited to a black tie event and are considering to buy your own tuxedo? Considering all the sales many retailers are offering, this might be just the right time to do so. As a good rule of thumb: If you wear the tuxedo at least once a year, then owning your own tux will be a good option. Not only will it save you money in the long run but it will safe you the hassle of renting a tuxedo each time. If you are planning on buying your own tuxedo you will also need a few other accessories to have the complete look. Below is a list of clothing accessories that will add the final touch to your tuxedo.
Tuxedo Shoes If you think that your daily dress shoes that you normally wear with your business suits will work, then think again! A tuxedo just doesn’t look right with ordinary black dress shoes. It is important that the shoes give of a classy elegant shine that compliments the “high class” look of the tuxedo. Tuxedo shoes have a high gloss polish that gives of an incomparable shine. There are two types of tuxedo shoes to choose from: The lace-up style, and the “slip-on” type. Whatever style you choose if completely your personal preference. Some lower end tuxedo shoes are PVC coated. The PVC plastic coating is a cheap way to add shine to the shoe. Keep in mind though that such shoes don’t “breathe” as well as the more costly leather shoes. If you are planning on stying in your tuxedo for a while and if dancing is part of your functions, then higher end leather shoes are definitely recommended.
Vests & Cummerbunds Both are not required but they will add a nice elegant touch to your tuxedo. If you choose to wear one, make sure not to wear both but only one at a time. Traditionally the color black is chosen. If you choose to wear a cummerbund that is pleated, make sure that the pleats are worn upward facing.
Bow Ties Traditionally the bow tie for black tie attire is solid black in color. Most classic bow ties measure a spread of 2.5 inches. Even though clip-on bow ties might seem a convenient alternative, nothing compares to a bow tie you tie yourself.
Tuxedo Dress Shirts There are two common dress shirts worn for black tie attire: Wing-Collar Shirts: The Wing Collar Shirts have a heavy starched collar that stands up on your neck. Only the tips of the collar are folded down and create the “wing-tip” look. Wing-collared shirts are often times considered to be slightly uncomfortable on your neck. If your event is taking longer and/or if you have more sensitive skin choose the flip-over collar shirt. The Flip-Over Collar: This type of dress shirt is basically a formal version of the ordinary dress shirt. The collar is just as the one from a regular dress shirt. There are two ways the shirt is made more formal: First, the shirt uses French Cuffs that are worn with cufflinks, and secondly, the shirt typically has decorations in form of folds at the front. Such folds are also called pleats that typically measure ¼ – ¾ inch apart.
Cufflinks Cufflinks are a must for the tuxedo outfit. In fact, you don’t really have any other option since almost all tuxedo dress shirts have French cuffs that require cufflinks. Keep the cufflinks plain and classy looking. Solid silver and solid gold are always a great option. If you choose the gold cufflinks make sure to match them to a golden watch. Black glass and black stone cufflinks are also quite popular.
Pocket Squares Pocket squares are a great way to add more style to your tuxedo. Traditionally a white silk pocket square is worn in the breast pocket of the dinner jacket. The most popular fold is the so-called “Presidential”, or “Flat” pocket square fold.
